A New Equilibrium for Accretion Disks Around Black Holes

چکیده
Accretion disks around black holes in which the shear stress is proportional to the total pressure, the accretion rate is more than a small fraction of Eddington, and the matter is distributed smoothly are both thermally and viscously unstable in their inner portions. The nonlinear endstate of these instabilities is uncertain. Here a new inhomogeneous equilibrium is proposed which is both thermally and viscously stable. In this equilibrium the majority of the mass is in dense clumps, while a minority reaches temperatures ∼ 109 K. The requirements of dynamical and thermal equilibrium completely determine the parameters of this system, and these are found to be in good agreement with the parameters derived from observations of accreting black holes, both in active galactic nuclei and in stellar binary systems. Calculation of the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of relativistic accretion flows in the Kerr metric.
In this paper, we calculate the relativistic bulk tensor and shear tensor of the relativistic accretion ows in the Kerr metric, overall and without any approximation. We obtain the relations of all components of the relativistic bulk and shear tensor in terms of components of four-velocity and its derivatives, Christoffel symbols and metric components in the BLF. Then, these components are deri...

p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; direction: ltr; line-height: 120%; text-align: left; }a:link { } In this paper, the evolution of accretion disks in the post-Newtonian limit has been investigated. These disks are formed around gravitational compact objects such as black holes, neutron stars, or white dwarfs. Although most analytical researches have been conducted in this context in the framework o...
متن کاملAccretion Disks around Kerr Black Holes: Vertical Equilibrium Revisited
We re-derive the equation for vertical hydrodynamical equilibrium of stationary thin and slim accretion disks in the Kerr spacetime. All the previous derivations have been unsatisfactory, yielding unphysical singularities. Our equation is non-singular, more general, and simpler than those previously derived. متن کاملNon-LTE Spectra of Accretion Disks Around Intermediate-Mass Black Holes
We have calculated the structures and the emergent spectra of stationary, geometrically thin accretion disks around 100 and 1000 M⊙ black holes in both the Schwarzschild and extreme Kerr metrics. Equations of radiative transfer, hydrostatic equilibrium, energy balance, ionization equilibrium, and statistical equilibrium are solved simultaneously and consistently. The six most astrophysically ab...
متن کاملDescription of Pseudo-newtonian Potential for the Relativistic Accretion Disk around Kerr Black Holes
We present a pseudo-Newtonian potential for accretion disk modeling around the rotating black holes. This potential can describe the general relativistic effects on accretion disk. As the inclusion of rotation in a proper way is very important at an inner edge of disk the potential is derived from the Kerr metric. This potential can reproduce all the essential properties of general relativity w...
